• Ensure that Alt tags are added to ALLl images, you need
to include a reference to the primary keywords by including at least
one and no more than 3 of the primary keywords per image alt tag
as well as a simple description of the image, this can assist you
in improving your search engine results.
• Text and simple image links to all related sites, thus create
a “link exchange” type network, whereby all sites are
linked back to each other (these can be from suppliers, customers,
sister companies or 3rd party sites), to affiliates sites sending
traffic to yours and visa versa. Create a “Links” section
and use text links to link to each of these sites, ensure that you
do the same on all the sites
• Create a text based site map at the base of your page, linking
to all the high focus content areas of your website. Some search
engines regard pages with multiple links on them as important sources.
• Critical elements of the objectives of the site will need
to be clearly defined in the page copy/text of the default page
and linked pages – i.e. you need to ensure that you have more

your content and check that each of these words are used. If not

offering. Take the following in to consideration when formatting
the primary keywords into the body of your content”
o Rather use real text, than text images in your body.
o Ensure that the content reads easily and most of all makes sense.
o Ensure you are descriptive about your specific product and not
generic.
o Be sure to emphasise the location of your business and or product.
o Use different forms of the primary keywords i.e. plural and singular.
• Ensure you publish the necessary anti Spam measures i.e.
unsubscribe links, privacy policy etc.
• Graphic light web pages, a simple logo with the image banners
is generally all that is required. Doorway or content pages are
only recommended when trying to improve search engine rankings of
graphic intensive websites.
• Spamming, yes there is such a thing as Spamming of search
engines. Practices that are regarded as spamming include:- hidden
text, excessive repetition of keywords, reverse engineering content
and by being misleading in your content.
• Remember that people search for many things, but when they
find a good site that delivers what it promises, they generally
stop searching and keep coming back.
